Jurassic Fly
I went out to give the dog water and saw this huge fly crawling up the door jam. I don't think this photo really conveys how big and old this fly looked. I've seen horseflies around but this one had a different look to it. It also looked kind of beat up like it had weathered and survived many attempts at being swatted over the years. Sadly, I think the flash from my camera gave it a heart attack because after I took the last picture it fell to the grand and I didn't see it again.

The Yum Enough Kroger Cookie (A Review)
I had been really craving cookies a lot so this campaign came at a great time. I received two boxes of Kroger's The truly Awesome Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies from BzzAgent (of which I am a member.) The cookies are definitely bigger and thicker than most boxed cookies and there are a lot of chocolate chips. I only needed to eat two cookies to be satisfied as opposed to the four or five I eat of other brands. But I think the differences stop there.
The cookies weren't quit what I was expecting. When I hear homestyle I think fresh, warm maybe a little chewy or soft. I think Homestyle here refers to the ingredients used chocolate chips, flour, margarine, sugar…you get the point. However, they remind me of other shelved cookies dry, crispy and store bought. Chips Ahoy comes to mind.
The chocolate chips in the Truly Awesome taste different to me like maybe there is some coconut or something mixed in. I'm not sure what is but I don't love it, I’m not a fan of coconut. My mom said, “that is what homemade tastes like.” I would have no idea. Maybe it has a lot to do with the fact that the closest I've come to eating homemade cookies is the powdered mix packages and refrigerated dough from the grocery store. I guess I don't know what homemade tastes like and I’m not used to it.
The cookies are dry right out of the box but this can be remedied by a glass of milk for dunking or few seconds in the microwave. I put one cookie in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds and what a difference it made. The cookie was warm, the chocolate chips were melty (if that’s a word) and the cookie was soft in the middle. This is lot better than just eating them straight from the box. Even the flavor of the chocolate chip seemed to improve.
I still think putting "awesome" in the name is a bit of a stretch. These aren't bad cookies. They are actually pretty good. They just aren't what I was expecting. So, I would have them again. I would even buy them. If they were on sale, I had a coupon or someone else was paying.
They are about $2.79 for a box of eight cookies at Fry's, Kroger and other Fred Meyer stores exclusively. In Stores Now!
full disclosure…disclaimer…or what have you: I don't know if I am legally supposed to do this or not but I have seen other sites where their reviews of products are followed by a "Disclosure" and I also saw an episode of Drop Dead Diva where Stacy got sued for not stating that she was given free items to review. (Good show by the way, maybe check that out.) Sooo... I am member of BzzAgent and I received a free sample to try and share my opinion about I also received coupons to pass on. I did not get any money and the opinions I shared are my own. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Veronica Mars cast member sighting...
"Logan Echolls" is on Ringer! I predict a teacher/student affair in the script in the near future. It is really exciting to see Jason Dohring on television again. yay! Hopefully, he sticks around as does Ringer.

I Scrubbing bubbled my loo...
I received the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner by SC Johnson (side note: Is anyone else annoyed by how long titles of new products are getting?) Anyway, I got this product free through Bzzagent, of which I am a member, yay!. I got the starter kit. It includes: a base, sprayer and one refilll can. This is day one of its use so I don't have a review of how well it works or doesn't. Even so, here is a video of how easy it was to set up. I only needed one hand. I can say that its scent (Fresh Mountain Morning) is pleasant enough and a bit of advice, close the lid before you push the pedal because the spray floats everywhere. If it works the way it claims I won't have to scrub my toilet again for 30 days. All I have to do is step on the pedal twice a day. Seems easy enough.

Recyclebank.com
Recyclebank is a program that rewards individuals with points that can be redeemed on the website for savings coupons, gift cards, and other items; all for taking small steps to live a "greener" lifestyle.
Unfortunately, I found out about this great program too late to be involved in the curbside recycling program. But I think it is still going strong in many communities. So, check it out and earn rewards for the good you are already doing for the planet. Or be enticed to start doing your part for our environment.
